Salutation to the noble Guru, who has opened the eyes blinded by ignorance with the collyrium stick of knowledge.
A person is like pure water, it is a teacher who mixes knowledge in it. i once again salute and thank all the teachers across the globe.
But today i would like to ask, who or what is a teacher?
A teacher is an immense ocean of knowledge, love and care. But today how many actual epitomes of the word teacher can we see in the real world? Frankly speaking, the number is very low.
Today, most of the students aspire, or are forced to aspire to become either an IIT engineer or an AIIMS doctor. only those who don't make it, left with no other options take up teaching as a profession. I'm sorry, i am not generalizing... There are indeed great Gurus even today, but this disinterest towards teaching profession is a growing misery in our society. As a result most of the teachers, who are supposed to mould the future of the nation are themselves poor in knowledge and moreover uninterested in teaching.
The age old system of teaching - learning in India, i would say, is very much outdated.
with the dawn of satellite technology, its the era of online smart classes. We have the technology to access a wide range of information across varied subjects and interests at just the tip of our fingers. A student in Africa can learn from the best teachers in America face to face.
He can clear any doubts within seconds and when clearing doubts become so easy, his curiosity increases, knowledge rises and he no longer remains a parrot which memorizes what its master teaches him and spits it out in the exam. Rather he indeed becomes smart. These online smart classes are interactive and more colorful. It instigates interest in students to learn.
Friends, evolution is a basic principle of nature. everything must undergo change. for instance, Graham bell invented the telephone, then came walkie talkies, the cell phones and today we have smart phones which are in fact smarter that ourselves ! from wheel to supersonic jet planes, posts to e-mails; everything has changed , But just take a peek at the mist important : Education sector. The same A for Apple B for Ball system prevails.
[ In Malayalam we have a saying ... "നാടോടുമ്പോൾ നടുവേ ഓടണം " or "കാലം മാറുമ്പോൾ കോലം മാറണം "... It all states that one must change with the trend. ]
and at a time when our phones to even our toilets are smart, why are we lagging behind in the schooling system? why don't we utilize the resources we have? Why don't we expand our limits and explore new possibilities? Smart classes is indeed the FUTURE.
Some orthodox and conservative minded people would say " slow and steady wins the race "
But my dear friends it is a centuries - old saying and in this ever so demanding 21st century, can we even afford to be slow? especially in India with the largest young population, immense potential who are looked upon by the world to perform and outperform others. Today a fast and steady approach is a much better way to win any race.
The online smart classes teach in the form of pictures, videos and other interactive means. Hence it becomes easier to grasp and understand. pictures and videos leave a stronger impression in our minds than writings and verbal teaching, it's scientifically proven.
Albert Einstein has rightly said " Everyone is born a genius but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, then it will live its whole life believing that he is stupid. " That's exactly what's happening in today's education system. all students are analysed on the basis of the same parameters.. Oh sorry, just a single Parameter... MARKS!!! what's the outcome? A low scoring child gradually loses his morale.
Whereas online smart classes are flexible as it is designed according to the student's interests. It is a fact that all minds function differently at different times. Some may prefer studying late at night while others early in the morning. With online smart classes, one can study when he/she is fully awake and active, thus being more productive.Let's forget the times when teachers were teaching and a bunch of students snoring at the back-benches.
School is not just a place for academics. Teachers often force all the students, including the uninterested ones to complete their meaningless projects, assignments, Sports, CCA and what not, Hoping for the "overall development" of the child. But does it always do good? With all these comes great stress and not every child would be able to cope with it. Eventually the child collapses. Online smart classes are there so that a child can concentrate only where he wants to.
Online smart classes is undoubtedly the future of education system and also the answer to India's quest to development.
PS: Still if there are great teachers and a proper education system. That's the best means to learn..!!
